Deacon Tom moved to the parish in January 1981.  He was ordained a Permanent Deacon in St John Fisher Church by Bishop Howard Tripp in September 2005.  He spent most of his working life in various Government roles, including in the Department of Employment, the Central Statistical Office and the Home Office. He was awarded the CBE in the Queen’s birthday honours list in June 2003 for services to gambling regulation.  He is married with four children and six grandchildren.
